When seeking new job opportunities, I was ecstatic about this opening for a health education assistant. I admire the high value placed upon interdisciplinary team based approaches and diversity at Kaiser Permanente. I am confident that I have the various skills and traits necessary to be a part of this passionate interdisciplinary team.

 

I am a fourth year Health Science (B.S.) major, focusing on community health education, attending CSU Long Beach with a 4.0 GPA. My courses as a health science major have well prepared me for a career in health education. Throughout my Health Science courses we learn aspects of patient education, program planning, and the coordination of health education programs and teams. One primary aspect of my education is the use of behavior change theories which is highly applicable to this role as a health educator. Furthermore, I have worked as a behavior technician for over a year now which has greatly strengthened my skills for implementing behavioral change among individual clients.

My background in community health education paired with my hands on experience working with behavior change allows me to be a strong candidate for this position. I have had the opportunity to do the coursework and obtain an A in all of these prevalent classes, while also being able to strengthen these skills via direct work. I am a hardworking and determined individual who persistently gives my all to any task brought my way. If given an opportunity to be a part of this health education team, I would be sure to bring my prior insights to the role as well as an uplifting positive energy. When it comes to fostering lifestyle changes within another individual, I think forming a deep human connection is of utmost importance. As a result of this philosophy, as a health educator I would utilize my interpersonal skills to best harvest lifestyle changes among patients. 

 

 I have always felt drawn towards working one on one with clients in health education and I would be beyond grateful if given the opportunity to fulfil this yearning.
